As we enter the final hours of Grassroots Advocacy Month 2026, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for everything you've done to support our federal family. Throughout this month, you have shared your stories, engaged with lawmakers, recruited new advocates, and amplified our voice across the country. Together, we've demonstrated the strength of our community and our shared commitment to protecting the federal workforce, retirees, and the vital services they provide.
With Members of Congress still home in their districts during the August recess, there is still time to make your voice heard. Every action you take -whether it's sending a letter, making a phone call, posting on social media, or sharing your story-helps strengthen our collective advocacy efforts.
There's Still Time to Take Action!
Use NARFE's Legislative Action Center to urge Congress to support our four Grassroots Advocacy Month priorities:
Social media continues to be one of the easiest ways to raise awareness and engage directly with lawmakers and your community. Share NARFE's advocacy messages, invite friends and family to join our efforts, and help expand the reach of our federal family.
A simple phone call can make a lasting impression. Calling your Members of Congress allows you to share your personal story and explain why these issues matter to you and your community.
NARFE has developed phone scripts for each of our legislative priorities to help you feel confident during your conversations.
You can find contact information for your Members of Congress below:
Letter to the Editor (LTE) Campaign
Letters to the Editor are an excellent way to educate your community and raise awareness while lawmakers are paying close attention to local news during the congressional recess.
Share your personal experiences, explain why these issues matter, and encourage your community to stand with the federal workforce. Use NARFE's guide or the Legislative Action Center LTEs to explain how federal employees and retirees serve their communities and why protecting the federal workforce benefits all Americans.
Whether you're preparing for a meeting, writing a letter, or making a phone call, NARFE's updated library of issue briefs, fact sheets, talking points, and advocacy resources can help you deliver a strong, informed message.
Help Us Measure Our Impact
Please remember to report any meetings, town halls, community events, or other interactions with your Members of Congress or their staff using our Event Feedback Form.
If your Letter to the Editor is published, or if you have photos from your advocacy activities, please send them to advocacy@narfe.org so we can celebrate your efforts and highlight your success.
This is our final moment of Grassroots Advocacy Month-but it is not the end of our advocacy. Every phone call, every letter, every meeting, and every conversation helps strengthen our voice and reminds Congress that behind every policy are real people who have dedicated their lives to public service.
Thank you for standing with your fellow members throughout this month. When one member speaks up, it makes a difference. When our entire federal family speaks together, we create lasting change.
As we cross the finish line, share your biggest accomplishments, lessons learned, advocacy successes, and words of encouragement with your fellow members in the comments below. Let's celebrate how far we've come-and finish GAM 2026 stronger than ever.
One Family. One Voice. One Mission. Let's finish strong!
