Grassroots Advocacy Month 2026: Let's Go, LAC!

  • 1.  Grassroots Advocacy Month 2026: Let's Go, LAC!

    Posted 2 days ago

After an impactful first week of sharing our stories, building awareness, and expanding our advocacy family, we're ready to take the next step in Grassroots Advocacy Month 2026.

This week, we're turning our focus to one of NARFE's most powerful advocacy tools: the Legislative Action Center (LAC).

If you're new to NARFE's LAC, this is where members can find active advocacy campaigns and quickly contact their elected officials about the issues that matter most to the federal community. Through the LAC, you can send action letters-personal messages to lawmakers that demonstrate constituent engagement and show that members of their communities are paying attention.

    Every message matters.

Elected officials rely on direct communication from their constituents to better understand the concerns, priorities, and experiences of the people they represent. When NARFE members share their personal stories and urge action, we help lawmakers see the real people behind the policies.

During Week 2 of GAM 2026, we're asking our federal family to use the LAC to make your voice heard and encourage Congress to take action on our top priorities:

    • Protect the nonpartisan, merit-based civil service

    • Support fair retirement benefits for FERS retirees

    • Defend the integrity of government operations

You can access these and other advocacy campaigns through NARFE's Legislative Action Center.

When completing an action letter, remember that your personal story is one of your greatest advocacy tools. Lawmakers need to hear not only what we support, but why these issues matter to real people, families, and communities across the country.

Use the comments section below to:

    • Share how you personalized your action letters.

    • Celebrate advocacy successes.

    • Exchange ideas with fellow NARFE members.

    • Ask questions and offer encouragement to other advocates.

Grassroots advocacy is strongest when we learn from one another and stand together. Every letter, every story, and every action helps strengthen the voice of our federal family.

For all things GAM 2026, including weekly actions, resources, and updates, visit the NARFE Grassroots Advocacy Month webpage.

Together, we can make our voices heard-because when our family speaks up, change is possible.
