When:  Nov 14, 2024 from 14:00 to 16:00 (ET)

NARFE Federal Benefits Institute presents

Picking FEHB Plans for Retirees Without Medicare

Thursday, November 14, 2024, 2:00 p.m. ET

Open season becomes paralysis from too much analysis for most federal retirees to choose the best fit for their health plan.  Many retirees continue the same health coverage they had since the day they were hired.  There are different types of plans:  HMO, FFS, HDHP, CDHP and then there are different networks and cost sharing considerations.  This webinar will attempt to provide some action items for open season to narrow down the choices to provide the best health care for the least cost for the coming year.

To help make the best decisions this Open Season, Tammy Flanagan will walk you through your options as a retiree who is not yet eligible for Medicare or who chooses not to enroll. The webinar will cover:

  • History of FEHB and overview of benefits

  • Eligibility for coverage of retirees and family members

  • How to utilize plan comparison to narrow down your choices

  • How to handle tandem couples, turning 65, military healthcare, and coverage under private sector plans

  • Overview of FEDVIP, Medicare, FSA, and FLTCIP

  • And more…

A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
