NARFE Federal Benefits Institute presents
Thrift Savings Plan: Should You Stay or Should You Go?
Thursday, July 17, 2025, 2:00 p.m. ET
The Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) has undergone several changes in recent years aimed at improving flexibility and access for participants, including expanded withdrawal options, a mutual fund window, and the ability to complete in-plan Roth conversions starting in 2026.
But even with these improvements, there are still compelling reasons why some participants may want to roll over all or part of their TSP savings to an Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Lower-cost investment options, greater flexibility in managing retirement income, and broader planning opportunities such as Qualified Charitable Distributions and enhanced beneficiary rules may be available outside the TSP.
In this webinar, federal benefits expert Mark Keen, CFP®, will walk you through the key features, benefits, and limitations of the TSP and compare them to what’s available through traditional and Roth IRAs. You’ll learn what factors should influence your decision, and what retirement plan will best support your retirement and financial goals.
A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
Please join us and Mark Keen, CFP®, on Thursday, July 17, at 2 p.m. ET, to better understand TSP conversions and whether they are the right decision for your long-term financial goals.
